The basis for the BMA is the Technical Guideline Preventive Fire Protection 123 (TRVB) Edition 2023 with all associated further TRVB.

Together with the connection conditions TRVB 114 and fire control systems TRVB 151, these technical guidelines provide the basis for functional fire protection.

After installation, the fire alarm system is run in trial operation (approx. 3 months). During this time, internal checks are carried out to ensure that the system works and does not produce any false alarms.

After the trial period, the BMA is subjected to an acceptance test by an “accepting body”. This checks whether the system has been installed in accordance with the guidelines and whether all the required documents are available. If the BMA is connected to the fire department, a fire safety officer must be appointed.

An inspection of the system must be carried out after two years.

Different BMA

We differentiate betweenvoluntarily installed systems (possibly a simplification of insurance conditions) or an “officially prescribed” fire alarm system.

In the case of fire alarm systems that are connected to the fire department, the company has not only personal protection but also protection of the existing building – as it is guaranteed that the fire department can enter the building 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, if a fire alarm is triggered and investigate the cause of the fire alarm triggering.

TÜV AUSTRIA is authorized to carry out acceptance tests and inspection tests.
